Yamaha’s Advanced Class for Experienced Pianists
The Clavinova series has been the quintessential home piano for many years. You can still expect the highest quality in sound, craftsmanship, and ease of use. However, the main difference between these instruments and the entry-level models is in the feel and sound of the piano. There is also a good selection of stage pianos in this class.
Clavinova CLP Series
Yamaha offers the widest range of models in the Clavinova series, with the smallest model, the CLP-725, starting at just under 1,600 Euros. The most expensive piano is the Clavinova CLP-785, which has strong competition in its price range from the Kawai CA99 and Casio GP-510.
The entire Clavinova series scores with three outstanding characteristics. In addition to modern features (see also USB Audio/MIDI), it is the comfortable playability and last but not least two expressive piano sounds. The Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer stand out as famous concert grand pianos. Moreover, you will also find upright pianos and vintage digital pianos among the sounds. The typical additional sounds such as strings, basses, etc. are also of excellent quality and work very well in combination with the split and layer functions.
The Clavinova Series also includes two digital grand pianos that are technically comparable to the traditional Clavinova models, but with a touch of luxury in design and workmanship. The Clavinova CLP-765 GP is identical to the CLP-735 regarding keyboard and sound features, while the top-of-the-line CLP-795 GP is on par with the CLP-785 in terms of inner values.
Variety is the name of the game with the Clavinova Series. In addition to the standard black, white, and rosewood finishes, white ash, walnut, and even high gloss finishes are available. The largest selection is available on the higher-priced instruments.
Conclusion: One of the advantages of the Clavinova Series is the sound generation, which in all models offers the same performance and richness of detail of the Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer sounds.
