Looking for an entry-level digital piano? If you want quality and performance on a budget, Thomann digital pianos are an excellent choice. The renowned music store in Treppendorf, Germany, offers a wide range of own-brand products across various categories, including portable pianos, home pianos, and even digital grand pianos – all at affordable prices.

How can Thomann offer its own-brand digital pianos at such low prices? The answer is simple: by not carrying the labels of major manufacturers like Casio, Kawai, Korg, Kurzweil, Roland, or Yamaha (which, of course, are also available in the online store).

Thomann’s in-house products, such as ‘the t.mix‘ and ‘the t.bone‘, have made the brand widely popular, especially thanks to their strong price-performance ratio. The same goes for Thomann’s digital pianos, which is why several models consistently rank among the best-selling digital pianos*.

Here’s an overview of all the own-brand product categories.*

How Much Does a Thomann Digital Piano Cost?

A Thomann digital piano will generally cost less than comparable models from major manufacturers. The company passes on the savings from production in the Far East directly to its customers, resulting in lower prices. Despite this, Thomann ensures that essential features, such as build quality, keyboard action, and sound, meet high standards — as reflected in the consistently positive reviews from satisfied customers.

In terms of craftsmanship, key action, piano sound, and functionality, Thomann digital pianos performed well in our tests. For those on a budget looking for a high-quality home piano, it’s important to note that buying from a reputable music store like Thomann is very different from purchasing a no-name instrument from a discount retailer. And another important factor: Service! At Thomann, you’re in good hands. The store not only offers expert advice from experienced professionals but also provides access to a large service workshop with trained personnel to assist you with your instrument long after purchase.

Deals: Always the Best Prices on Digital Pianos

If you’re looking for a great deal, check out the special offers in the online store. Trust the “Hot Deal” section to consistently show the most affordable musical instruments in categories such as Stage Pianos, Digital Pianos, Compact Pianos, and Keyboard Accessories.

You can find the Hot Deals on keyboard instruments in the Thomann Online Shop.*

While the Hot Deals typically feature Thomann’s own-brand products, the Bargain Corner offers the best deals from a variety of manufacturers. This section often includes B-stock items from mail-order returns at even greater discounts.

For the lowest prices on digital pianos, be sure to check out the Thomann Bargain Corner.*

What Are the Shipping Costs?

Wondering if shipping a digital piano is a good idea? Not to worry – shipping is not only safe but also included in the purchase price. Digital pianos are securely packed in sturdy cartons, ensuring they arrive in perfect condition. Despite this, we recommend that you do not handle the delivery or assembly yourself, especially if it’s a home piano. In this case, you’ll definitely need to assemble the included piano stand. But rest assured, it’s simple enough that no prior experience is required to set it up perfectly.

Another larger digital piano is the Thomann DP-95, an arranger digital piano with auto-accompaniment and a wide variety of sounds. It has been on the market for a while, but with its rhythms, backing tracks, and versatile sounds, it brings a lot of fun and variety to the music-making process.

You get a lot of features for this price: a powerful sound engine with 256-note polyphony, a graded hammer action keyboard with a triple sensor system, and synthetic ivory key surfaces. And for the ultimate deal, the bundle – including bench and headphones – is available for under €1,000. The DP-140BP UW with wooden keys and high-gloss finish offers even more quality.

Thomann Portable Pianos

A Thomann portable piano is an excellent choice if space is limited or you’re on a tighter budget. You can find a Thomann portable piano for around €330, especially if you opt for a hammer action keyboard, which we highly recommend. The Thomann DP-26 has been a top seller for years. While the SP-320 is a more affordable option, its semi-weighted keyboard may not be the best choice for beginners.

Thomann Digital Grand Piano: Numerous Features for (Relatively) Low Cost

Many beginners will initially be surprised by the price of just over €2,000, which may not seem very “affordable.” However, it’s important to recognize that a digital grand piano is typically more expensive than a small entry-level digital piano. A glance at the competition in this category reveals just how competitively priced Thomann’s digital grand piano truly is.

More Information

The most affordable Yamaha digital grand piano starts at just under €5,000, while the AvantGrand models carry a substantial five-figure price tag. The Thomann DP-275 GP digital grand piano, on the other hand, is much more appealing in this respect. Its polished black finish and hammer action keyboard with ivory feel keytops and let-off simulation make for a delightful playing experience.

You’ll also discover a wealth of additional features: auto-accompaniment, sequencer, learning functions, USB-to-host, USB-to-device, audio inputs, and Bluetooth for both audio and MIDI – everything you need is included. With over 1,200 sounds – ranging from drums and bass to strings and orchestral tones – and 270 styles, there’s something to suit every musical taste.

Money-Saving Tip: Purchase a Thomann Digital Piano as Part of a Bundle

As a beginner, you’ll likely need several accessories in addition to your digital piano, especially if you plan to start with online lessons and connect to a computer or tablet. At the very least, investing in a quality piano bench and a good pair of headphones will significantly enhance your playing experience. The correct bench height is crucial for maintaining proper posture while playing, and quality headphones are essential for fully enjoying the instrument’s sound.

Thomann offers various bundles for all digital pianos that come with essential accessories, conveniently linked to each respective model. Connect Your Thomann Digital Piano to Your Computer or Mobile Device

Every Thomann digital piano comes equipped with modern connectivity features, ensuring seamless integration of external devices. At a minimum, each model features a USB-to-host port for USB-MIDI transmission, which is standard across all digital pianos. However, functionality may vary, with some models also supporting the transmission of audio files. The newer models, such as the DP-28 Plus and DP-140 U, are fully up-to-date with this feature.

It allows the instrument to exchange MIDI and audio data with external devices in parallel, making it easy to integrate music applications or DAW software on your computer. This setup eliminates the need for additional audio cables or adapters – all you need is an OTG adapter for Android devices or an Apple Camera Connection Kit for Apple devices. With these essential accessories, you’re all set to connect your Thomann digital piano to a sequencer or music notation software.

In addition, the Thomann DP-28 Plus supports Bluetooth for wireless MIDI data transmission. While the Pianotoolbox app is a highlight in this regard, you can connect to any music app on a computer or tablet via Bluetooth – no need for any cables!

External audio devices can be connected via USB and audio-in. In addition, you can play piano apps through the DP-32's speakers. The picture shows the iOS app Korg Module.
