Vintage Vibe

Originally founded in 1997 as an instrument rental service, this Rockaway, New Jersey-based company has grown to become one of the largest providers of vintage keyboard repair and restoration services. Vintage Vibe offers a wide selection of parts for vintage pianos such as Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, and Clavinet, as well as vintage pianos of the company’s own design.

At the 2011 NAMM Show in Anaheim, the vintage keyboard expert unveiled its first own-brand retro electric piano: the Vintage Vibe Piano. It is available in several versions and has many similarities to the Fender Rhodes. For example, the Vintage Vibe Piano features a Tine/Tonebar sound generation system, just like the Fender Rhodes: Pickups transmit the vibration of the reeds. Compared to the original Rhodes, the Vintage Vibe Piano features several detail improvements, resulting in a significantly lighter weight and an expanded range. The electro-mechanical piano is available with 44, 64, and 73 keys, as well as in a variety of colors. The Vibanet, a replica of the legendary Hohner Clavinet D6, followed in 2013.

Original instruments are also available on the Vintage Vibe website. Whether used or restored, browsing the site is always worthwhile for Rhodes and Wurlitzer enthusiasts.
